Hello, world

Hi, I'm Ahmet. I am an AI Research Engineer at the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems IAIS in Sankt Augustin, near Bonn, where I have worked since April 2022. I work on a platform for large-scale media processing and search, mostly on its AI products and architecture.

My expertise is in highly available, large-scale distributed systems. Lately most of my work is on large language models and agentic systems: AI agents that plan, use tools and act on real data, along with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and vector search. I care most about taking these systems from prototype to production.

Before Fraunhofer, I spent four years at TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, the Informatics and Information Security Research Center, building backend systems for AI products and leading the team behind its Cloud Drive desktop app. I also maintain Whisper ASR Box, an open-source API server for self-hosting speech models.
